The Art Auction is on!

We were surprised and pleased by the response to Tuesday's poll on holding an art auction. And we were especially heartened by the response from all the artists out there. If you wrote in or commented that you'd like to donate and you haven't heard from us yet, hang in there! We're still getting organized, and you'll hear from us shortly.

We're aiming to have the first pieces up for viewing (and bidding) next week. We'll post and auction off one work at a time, so there will be opportunities througout the month to learn about the local artists/AT readers donating their work and maybe even to add something beautiful to your home -- while supporting Drawbridge, a wonderful Bay Area arts prgram for homeless kids (complete profile to come next week).

Keep your eyes peeled for art...

I'm psyched for the auction, but not so pumped for the one piece a day approach. Why not a traditional auction where everyone can see everything at once? I think in fact that you'd be likely to raise more money this way, because people won't be holding out in case something comes up later that they want but then can't afford because they spent their disposable income already.

OK, that was long, but hopefully makes sense.
