Vote: SF Transit Shelter Designs

5-30-sfmta.jpg

Interesting coincidence. Yesterday AT:NY blogged modern street furniture in New York. And today we learned, via If It's Hip, It's Here, that we can actually have a say in the design of local transit shelters.

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency is considering new transit shelters -- take a look at the models and then vote and comment here.

(Want to know what that red pole is? Go below the jump.)

You can also view kiosk designs and shared bicycle designs -- although the SFMTA is not asking for votes or comments on them.

(The red pole? It's a wind turbine. This design would be able to produce energy through its use, as well as solar panels on the shelter's roof.)
