Northwest #31: Kate and Jason's Colorful Craftsman

10-17-nw31.jpg
fallcolors2.jpgName: Kate + Jason
Location: Kingston, WA
Type of Home: Restored Craftsman Bungalow
What inspired you to use color? When we bought our home, everything was painted off-white - walls, trim, doors! It had zero personality, but great potential. The first thing we did was start painting. The use of color transformed the space into a completely different environment. Fun, vibrant, and completely unique.

Color Tip: TEST, TEST, TEST! Color on a paint chip never looks the same as color on a wall. Buy a sample or even a pint and try it out in several areas of a room. See how it changes over the course of a day. It is money and time well spent!

Colors Used: Master Bath-Benjamin Moore custom blend (Aura/Affinity paint) Baby's room - Benjamin Moore Apple Blossom Baby's closet - Benjamin Moore Melon Popsicle Dining Room - Benjamin Moore Wheatfield Kitchen - Benjamin Moore Moroccan Spice Kitchen Island - Benjamin Moore Blue Spa 2nd Bath - Custom Blend

I love the warm colors, they are used just enough to make you want to cuddle up!

It's difficult to see the colors when all of the pictures are so dark.

Wow! That kitchen is wonderful. I might actually cook if I had a kitchen like that.

i love the 1st 2 pictures! the other rooms don't look like they belong in the same home though. the 2nd, blueish bathroom is really nice, but it needs something. maybe add some candles or art. it needs some softness.

the blue in the kitchen, paired with that island, is killer. beautiful color throughout the house; love that warm rusty-red.

Also like the colored ceiling in dining room. Great effect. Is it painted wallpaper?
