We love craigslist. Many pieces of our current lives, including our current apartment, came together through craigslist. But we've often wished the UI (user interface) was a little more user-friendly. Endlesly clicking and browsing through multiple listings individually, some with pics and some without, to find the Perfect Thing for Very Little Money can really eat into living one's life.
Clearly other folks share this sentiment. Enter Ryan Sit of Freestyle Labs, a San Diego-based developer. Sit has masterminded a visual interface for craigslist called ListPic. And ListPic provides a better, more visual way to look at craigslist.

I LOVE YOU ListPic!
ListPic, you are my hero. I love browsing Craigslist but clicking on the items for pictures can quickly get tiresome, especially when there are people who like to repost the same item repeatedly in order to "top post" (although that is against the rules).
After reading about ListPic, I thought it sounded great and wished that it was available for the Atlanta Craigslist. Lo and Behold, it is! I especially love the feature where you can enlarge all of the thumbnails via a button in the corner.
awesome!!! just what i have been hoping for. now my compulsion to buy furniture on CL will be even worst
I LOVE THIS!
ListPic vastly reduces my time spent looking at photos of truly ghastly coffee tables.
I have been waiting so long for something like this. I always thought craig should have the option to look at listings with pics only, should you choose to. Brilliant!
Do the people who give out Nobel prizes know about ListPic? I'm sure they don't because ListPic deserves an award (and not for the silly inventions and discoveries they give Nobel prizes for... like physics, which everyone knows is totally made up by bored grad students).
Awesome while it lasts! Craigslist will surely force this site to stop what it's doing though...
I don't see why Craig would be bothered by it at all. It enhances the experience. I think Craig would be very much in favor of it. I just wonder if/when the ListPic people are going to want to charge for it ...
Well, they've humbly asked similar initiative to cease & desist in the past; I doubt this will be any different. The last one that I remember loving, was the guy that made the site to browse all Craigslist at once. It was a great asset but was quickly quelled by Craigslist.
This for one is a huge tax load on their bandwidth and that alone will probably dictate their fate.
I was suprised they stuck ads on the page. That will surely put the issue over the edge. Not only are they using CL bandwidth (source of images is craigslist.org) but they are putting ads over top. Left as a free service without ads they might have an argument for staying, but this is simple leechware.
I'm sure CL has the ability to do this but they don't care to pay for the bandwidth necessary (hint, hint, Listpic).
