In the small world of modern bedding, established players (like Dwell, Amenity, and Area) are few in number, but ubiquitous. That's why it's refreshing to see this world expand to include a smaller studio like Robert Segal and Alicia Rosauer's Unison Home.
This Chicago-based bedding design studio makes (and sells online) a suite of 5 bedding collections and an array of complementary throw pillows. The quality is high, the race track-inspired designs are simple and punchy, and the color palette runs a sophisticated gamut from subdued to cheerful.
Perusing Unison's selection of quilts, printed bedding (duvets, cases and shams, and throw pillows), crisp white cotton percale sheets, and pillow and duvet inserts is like breathing fresh air. This is bedding that can command center stage in a room-- or stand back in support of some other element: a great piece of art, an enviable view, a beloved dog or partner (snoozing in the bed of course). It's both a canvas and a statement.
The Track collection, pictured above, includes quilts and pillowcases in two colorways, with prices running from $33 to $300.
