The walls are currently white, which is Definitely Not Working. Yellow is out as a wall color because I think it would drive me insane. I currently have terracotta colored sheets, making the whole proposition more complicated, but I could replace those potentially. The room is small, and the furniture is all mid-century modern oiled walnut to give you an idea of what it would go with.
I'm thinking warmish dove gray, or possibly deepish grass green. Any other suggestions? I'd be very grateful!

The dove gray sounds good - I also like a light toasty brown or if you want to be daring, a certain lavender could be really cool.

Look at the beige colors of DEVINE PAINTS.
Many of their beiges have touches of other color, so that when certain light hits it, or fabrics enter, they take on a whole new life.
I REALLY wish I knew the name of what I had in my living room. It would be PERFECT for your bedroom.
I'll scout around for a paint chip/name for you.

not exactly answering your question - but given the relative impact of walls vs. comforter (not to mention the effort involved in changing them!) have you considered first choosing a wall color you like and then choosing a comforter to match?
Please help me!!!! I've been struggling to pick a color for this hall in my new apartment. I'm pretty open to color as I've thought about everything from black chalkboard paint to terra-cotta.

I need to get my hands on a design book. I don't know the name of it but it is about small spaces. It starts with 100 Sq. Ft. and goes up to around 700 sq. ft. It's a paperback and the pages are marked with the sq. footage on the outer edge of each page. It's also a small thick book - not the standard size design book.
Does anyone know what book I'm talking about?

leslie, I think that might be it. The cover doesn't look familiar but that doesn't mean anything. I'll go to B&N today and find it. THANK YOU!

I've heard from my neighbor that there is a place in Berkley that will strip doors, furniture etc by dipping them. I also heard they were really good and cheap ($200 per door). He couldn't remember the name. Does anyone else know?

For Anne, I have a book in front of me at the moment which is the one I think you are referring to. It is called "new Studio Design", daab 2006, ISBN-13 978-3-937718-76-7 AND ISBN-10 3-937718-76-1 (it has two ISBNs on the back cover). If I had owned it prior to creating The Lux Pod, in London, I'm sure I would have managed a few more milimetres of space saving ideas! It is inspirational. The properties are true to the title i.e. they really are Studios, not like a lot of other books which have huge spaces listed. The book size is just over the size of an A4 sheet of paper and the cover is hard, which fits in with your description. Each page has the floor plan in the lower left hand corner, on the left page. There is hardly any text, just lots of photos.

Does anyone know who makes the nightstand pictured on the Amazing Lace page (link below)? I called FlOR but the sales associate I spoke to was unable to find any information on it...

Anyone been to the DWR sale at Fort Mason? I'm hoping to leave work early to check it out this afternoon, and I'm very curious about what to expect. I'll post again tonight and let you know what I find.

Thank you Leslie for your kind words. I meant to say the book is just over half the size of an A4 sheet of paper. Page 178 "Optibo" onwards is my favourite as it features pop up furniture from recesses in the floor. Cool! Swedish architects, White Design http://www.optibo.se

DWR sale - lots of banged-up dressers, tables, and desks, among other items, but also lots of new, still-in-the-box items. Sales staff was marking stuff down after 5pm or so. Plan to go Sunday morning and get what's left at great prices.

Hi folks,
So what color would you paint your walls if you had this comforter?
