I just moved to the city and have 2 chairs that I'd like to reuhpolster. Any recommendations/suggestions? I'm in SOMA.
Thank you. :)

r u looking for the fabric or someone to do the work?
I have done my own work and it turned out fine. I got the fabric at Britex, they have great stuff, but not cheap. Also, Discount Fabric (there are several stores, the one in SOMA is the best) is a great store, with better prices.
Welcome to the city!

Does anyone have feedback on Retrospect, the upholsterers on Market St? The samples in the window look great but carry weighty price tags.
darciekd, thanks for the info. I'm looking for someone to do the work for me on these 2 chairs. It's been years since I've sewn anything, so I can't even make a slipcover for the ottoman I currently have. :{
Thanks for the welcome. :)

does anyone know how often Room & Board has their sample sales? I seem to remember that there was one in the fall last year, and I'll be really kicking myself if I already missed it!

I say if you can get the chairs in the car, take them to Kay in Oakland. You can take a photo and email it to them for a quote beforehand.

I've been searching for a post that ran maybe 3-4 weeks ago and failing dismally. Remember the image of a black painted sideboard displaying mod white brown plates? It was refinished by a woman who left a comment and there were more pics of her great work ... I want to contact her.
Any leads, anybody?
