I was wondering how many people have had experiences using Urban Outfitters tapestries as coverlet-type-things. The Vintage Lotus Branch one that I've loved for a long time went on sale, but I'm afraid that it will be a hassle with it over my down comforter. Am I being silly? Should I go for it? Thanks!

i've used the UO tapestries as a coverlet before, and it looks really good. i have to say it didn't last, though, because it isn't a good quality fabric, so it can be a little scratchy. however for looks when the bed is made it works well.

Are you planning on using the tapestry as a bedspread? (ie taking it off the bed at night, and replacing it in the morning when you make your bed) If so, it should work just fine. I do that with a jaquard woven wool throw over the down comforter on our bed, take it off each night and fluff up the down puff. But if I leave the wool throw on the bed over the down puff, the down isn't as fluffy and warm. (if it is really cold, I put the wool throw under the down puff as an additional blanket)

For me it is worth the extra few minutes that wrangling the layers of bedcovering takes each day because the wool throw is so beautiful it adds a great deal to my enjoyment of my bedroom.

Thank you sflily and fjorlief :D I think I am going to go for it because my room is very, very bland at the moment and definitely needs a change!

Question: I'm a freshly ground pepper sort of person. And yet, I still love the old vintage ceramic sprinkle sets. Have any of you come up with creative, alternative uses for salt and pepper shakers?
