heps is wondering if there's an area in SF where good home decor shops are concentrated, and Jeff's looking for people who want to be on a new design reality show. . .

Hello! I was in San Francisco Friday through last night, and I had a great time. We didn't actually do that much -- just walked around, mostly -- but we had a good time at the SFMOMA. For next time, is there an area where good home decor shops are concentrated? Thanks!

To Whom It May Concern:

Hello! My name is Jeff Eggleston and I'm currently Associate Producing a new show for Banyan Productions called "The Ultimate Design Project" We are in the process of finding amazing interior designers, and carpenters to potentially be a part of this great new interior competition TV program.

I was hoping to possibly get your help in getting the word out. Below is the information with 2 parts.

1) We're looking for interior designers, and carpenters

2) We're also looking for homeowners (6 neighbors to be exact) to let our design teams redo the interiors of their homes

1) ATTENTION INTERIOR DESIGNERS AND CARPENTERS:

Do you think you have what it takes to compete against other interior designers and carpenters in the business to win your own reality show?
'The Ultimate Design Project' is the new hit reality show from the producers of 'Trading Spaces' and we want you!
What we need from you is a brief (3-4min) well lit video showing us why you should be the worlds first Ultimate Designer along with a short write up of who you are, your design tastes, and why we should pick you!! We need your video by Wednesday March 21, 2007.

Send your brief video to:
Casting Dept. of Ultimate Design Project
Banyan Productions

No phone calls please.

2) ATTENTION ALL HOMEOWNERS AND NEIGHBORS:

'The Ultimate Design Project' is the new hit reality show from the producers of 'Trading Spaces' and we want to revamp your home!
We are looking for 6 neighbors that are ready and willing to have the world's best designers re-design each room in your house. WANNA BE A PART OF THIS REVOLUTIONARY SHOW? What we need from you:

heps, I like the Fillmore for Zinc Details (and their separate, furniture showroom) Nest, and Jonathan Adler; Hayes Valley for Scandinavian Details and Propeller. There's some good stuff in the Mission too, like Aldea and Therapy for new stuff, and Monument and The Apartment for vintage. What kind of home stores are you looking for?

Thanks, Shannon. I guess I'd be most interested in accessories--things that I could take back with me on the plane. This gives me some ideas for next time.

If you're willing expand your search to Santa Cruz, there's an amazing shop called Saffron and Genevieve (http://www.saffronandgenevieve.com/) with new and re-purposed vintage furniture and a good selection of accessories. It's worth the drive.
