I know there have been quite a few posts on the subject of FLOR carpets, but has anyone ever used them as stair treads? Our aging shi tzu is having a hard time getting up the slippery hardwood stairs, and I am looking for a fairly inexpensive way to make it easier for him. I was thinking of getting some FLOR squares and cutting them in half to make a carpet for each stair. Thoughts?

It doesn't look like that is a good idea:
"HOW DOES FLOR STAY IN PLACE?
FLOR is engineered with structural integrity to hug the floor. Every order comes with FLORâs revolutionary new FLORDots. The FLORDots have notches that guide tile fit and the sticky side stays on the FLOR, not your floor. The result? A floating FLOR."
Says "The Grip Trex⢠design with omni directional treads and traction zones are customized to the meet demanding needs of active dogs. The sole generates unequaled grip, traction, durability, and performance."
Notice they have no cat shoes. Pity the poor fool who'd try to put shoes on cats.
It's certainly worth looking in to, and will make it so much easier for your dog to get around!

quietcal - I actually installed Flor on a short flight of stairs in my house, leading from the garage into the kitchen. My husband and I walk on these stairs several times a day, and we've had them in place for about 3 years now. No problems whatsoever.
BUT, I believe we bought these Flor tiles back when Flor designed them to stick to the surface -- rather than simply stick to each other. So they came with double-sided adhesive squares, not the dots that the company offers now.
I'm guessing you could use some other strong, double-sided adhesive to make the Flor tiles work for you.

I have tried three times to click over to the sale at The Company Store, and all it does is reload whatever page I am on, on a new tab. It is NOT taking me to The Company Store.
I did try another link, to Glam.com, and it DID work.
What happened to all the advertisers? Where'd they go? There used to be a ton of ads. Those are good sources, those ads. And I liked the one with the four lamps, in red, gold, brown and gray glass. I like those colors. Now I have no idea where they are, those lamps.
I swear, the best parts of some magazines are their ads, as sources. But it's also a good way to decide if I am buying the right magazines or if I'm on the right site for my own personal preferences.
The cheesier the ads get, the more I realize that I am not on a good site. Thank goodness there are no "find cheating housewives near you" ads here! Hahaha.
I'm a single straight woman...what am *I* going to do with a cheating housewife near me? Unless she does windows and other cleaning tasks for free, I'm not interested.
Anyway...I thought you should know about the ads, at least that ONE ad that isn't directing properly right now.

Will the CB2 Double Dip floor lamp look bad in a room with normal height ceilings?
I love the lamp, and I love the idea of it scooping from one corner of the room (where the outlet is) to the center, lighting up the middle of things. But it is only ever pictured in rooms with crazy high ceilings, so that makes me worry that it will make my room look stumpy and too short.
Any thoughts? Thanks!

Sarah001 - I have a reproduction Arco lamp in my living room with normal (just over 7' ceilings) and I think it works okay (it would be better if I was in my dream loft with 20' ceilings but so would a lot of things).
If you scroll to the end of my flickr pictures I think I have a photo (creatively titled new lamp). I can't access Flickr from here so I'm recycling a link to something else in my photostream.

However, there are dog shoes made just for older dogs:

These ones have gripping soles:

The link on THIS page while I am typing this message has this address:

But loads this:

That's THIS thread and not the store. Wah.
