deat ATers,
i am wondering if anyone out there might have a collection of ELLEDecorations UK out there.
From 2005 or 6 onward?
There's a house, from somewhere in the UK, that's been haunting me since, one of the prettiest i've ever seen: primarily dark grey poured cement, with a bit of green, and a purple shower curtain, it had subterranean portions, several skylights and landings, infused with a serene and subtle radiance.
It's a longshot, but if anyone might have copies and/or knows about which house i'm refering to, that would be wonderful.
(should have bought the issue instead of just reading it @ Borders!)
thank you

it sounds like it could possibly be David Adjaye's "lost" house in Kings Cross in London.
the photos there look quite different from the ones in Elle Deco, which were a lot darker and moodier. if this is the right house then it was in issue 176 from april 2007.

also, if this is the right house then it's your lucky day, you can buy it for circa. 5 million dollars!

colin oh,
thank you!
that must be it.
it was darker and moodier, in Elle, yes; and shot from different angles.
i'm looking forward to getting the David Adjaye book.
(i love the water garden, but all of the roof-lights, windows, etc.)
Kings Cross was a moody place, or at least St. Pancras Station was, if i recall correctly (in 1991).
and thank you Leslie.

Anyone have any suggestions on where to go to talk to people online? About just general stuff? Message boards? Or someplace where I could look things up for people?

Taschen lovers: LA has their warehouse sale, but locally, Books Inc, Market street, in the Castro (below Market St Gymn),
there's a sort of perpetual Taschen sale, with usually a few Taschen, and/or other cofee table and art books on sale there...
stay away when yr coffers are low (once there were twelve highly appealing, drastically redfuced price titles).

ps
Taschen's 1950's decorative arts book has been moved to the back of the store in the interiors section (for $15).
They usually carry a Seba's Cabinet of Natural Curiosities, too.

Here's me being an idiot again, I swear I saw on this site an image of branch wall holders...and someone asked about them, where to get them. I don't know where that post IS. But I think I found the branch wall holding things:
go to http://www.urbanoutfitters.com
go to Apartment Furnish and Entertain
go to Wall Decor
go to Wall Hooks
Has the Branch wall hooks in white and a bronze color, made of iron, $20.00 a pair.

Pop art portraits, originals, abstracts, check them out here:

http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=59226&order=§ion_id=&page=1
You have to click on each image to see how big it is, for instance this one is 4 ft long:
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=7000750
Oh, it appears that $100 = 4 ft, $75 = 3 ft, $50 = 2 ft for the striped ones. I like this blue one, it's like all the colors of the daytime sky...
