we'd like to put a rug under our dining table and console in the kitchen, but we haven't found the right one yet. right now, it's part zen, part pop (if that makes any sense), with a wood, black, gray, light purple, white, and light pink theme to it. we'd like something that can be cleaned easily, but can fit in the space (roughly 4.5'x7.5', 5'x8' max). we were looking at flor tiles, specifically "if there be thorns" in plum, but we're not sure if that's the best choice (also a little too feminine for us, but pretty). thoughts? i've checked urban outfitters, anthropologie (a little too expensive), something jute from west elm, and ikea (need to go back and really look at the selection; the one we got didn't quite work.)

thanks!

I LOVE Flor rugs tiles, especially for eating areas. If you spill you can clean an individual carpet tile in the sink or hose it off on the back porch. You can customize your rug with a border, textures, colors, you name it. http://www.flor.com/ They are also kid and pet friendly. Worth their weight in convenience, durability, portability, cleanability, customizability (is that a word?) -- and if you want to change them up a bit, you can design your rug so that you can simply change a few tiles out for a fresh burst of color.
