Aluminum Collator

11-20-collator.jpg
We wish all our files fit in this, with room to spare. What a bonus when files that need to stay close at hand can look great, too.

This exandable metal collator can be found in a few different iterations, including a 6-section, $30 version at the Container Store (DWR even used to sell a $200 version).

This one is $39 from Canoe.

That is soooooo DWR.....

Anybody want to buy one cheap? I did look great in the store filled with pretty, well organized files. Unfortunately, our stuff just looked like standing mess in a collator. ~:o)

I really don't get this. It reminds me of the mountains of files at the firm I work at (where they use these). Ugly at work, ugly at home.

suziegoombs, you write what my husband told me when I gave it to him to optimize his organizing on his work desk. He hates it, I like to work with it.
Ours was about 30 Euros.

They cost about $75 at Staples when I looked them up earlier today, probably a better made one (holds up to 500 sheets per slot @ I think 24 slots. I've always sort of wanted one, but not really, you know? They're just an office collating workhorse, they're not magical. For people who like office supply classics, this thing is neato, but otherwise, nothing new, unless the first time you'd seen one is somewhat out of context, like someone just developed it with some keen new eye. DWR, that's kind of ridiculous. Was it made of platinum? If you're designing your home office with mid-century modern sensibilities, this fits in better than those metal mesh sorters, or anything in a smoky black plastic.

seejanework.com has one (albeit a bit smaller, which may be a good thing for some people) for $15.
