If you're looking change the layout of your closet for something more efficient, I've had some luck with California Closets (http://www.californiaclosets.com/). They do a free consult, so even if you don't wind up buying their product, they might be able to give you some good ideas.

If you're just looking for someone to organize your closet using your existing fixtures (rods, shelves, etc.)...then I wouldn't know who to recommend.

I can recommend someone who is on the East Coast - I don't know whether she has West Coast clients, but I do know she is based in NC and makes regular trips to NYC for multiple clients there. If you want her info, hit my email in my profile.

Karena Gruber of Piece By Piece (in Oakland) is amazing! Her website is www.bypiece.biz if you want to get in contact with her.

If you do a Google Search, you'll find the most amazing things - like the National Association of Professional Organizers who have a search tool on their site to find certified professionals near you.

Wow--NAPO, just like the moderator suggested in the article. What value could this website possibly provide, since Google will tell you anything?

Oh, wait. It could provide a concentrated forum for people to talk about their opinions/experiences with regard particular services, designers or products.

Of course, it could also provide a near-constant flow of snark...to which, admittedly, I have just contributed.

I'm addicted to Jeri Dansky's newsletters & blog. She's in Half Moon Bay. I have not used her services but her advice is right on and she's an AT reader.

Closet Factory is the best closet company out there. Their closets sit on the floor and can be moved.
