Leather Suitcase File Cabinets

Getting organized at home might mean having a filing cabinet for your papers. Some small homes don't have a separate space for a home office and it can be nice to have alternatives to metal filing cabinets for keeping your files in order. This Leather Suitcase Collection at Home Decorators Collection includes a variety of filing cabinet configurations: 2 high, 3 high 3 wide, longer lateral files. The collection also includes non-filing-cabinet drawers to use for other storage (see bottom pic). Prices range from $150 to $500.

Not to be snarky or mean, but have you ever been inside a Home Decorators Collection store? The stuff feels really chintzy and cheezola. I think their stuff probably looks nicer in photographs than in person...

I bought one of these over the internet, because they look cool in photos. But they don't hold up well at all. The "leather" peels off at the edges and looks junky. I ended up hiding it in a closet.

I don't think this works, either. I love vintage suitcases. But a file cabinet should look like what it is.

I love this idea, but from the posts it sounds like these are not the right ones (too junky)... anyone found a better version?
