The Onion, our regular source for humorous faux-news, just posted a piece on possible uses for the nation's unoccupied homes, currently standing at one in nine. The first idea? Testing out new color scheme before committing to it in one's own home. Clearly a light take on a potenitally serious situation, it nevertheless stimulated our imaginations.

But what if we have a corner of looked-over space in our own homes that we can use to try out new ideas? This article addresses ways to turn any little nook into additional storage, a project in itself, but also decluttering main areas to give you a whole new perspective on the decor.
