Living in a small space, we are open to any and all ideas that help us keep organized and maximize the minimal space we have. While we've seen many a belt-hanging system that relies on hanging from the clothes rod, but ours is fairly jam-packed already. That's when we went on a search and found this gem...
We've had issues with other wall-mounted hook systems, since the rack would go towards the back of the closet and make it difficult to see and reach our belts. This fantastic organizational tool seems like a great solution for our problem. We could see it working for many different situations!

We found two different options online, Easy Closets and Home Storage both have models in different finishes for around $50.
Do you have any other great solutions for belt storage in tight spaces?
IKEA makes this for their PAX closet system. Not chrome, and more like $5 instead, of $50.

Thanks for the resource on the tie rack - I've been running out of room on my old Hold Everything tierack and getting tired of hanging my excess ties on doorknobs and chairs!

the hooks would work for purses too.

I don't get it. It only slides out a few more inches than if it were hung on the side of the cabinet without a slider. Is it really so hard to reach over and grab what you need?

When your closet is full of clothing the ties at the back are rather easier to overlook as those in front - so yes, having them available for easy viewing would make it simpler to select one that's tucked in back - which helps keep me from wearing the same ones over and over while forgetting the others, then going to the store to get more ties because I feel like I don't have the selection that I need...
...for the price of one tie, I think one of these racks is a good deal to help me easily care for, view and wear the ones I already have.

The top one in the first photo is for neck ties, not belts.

we have the ikea one and rarely actually slide it out of the wardrobe. we just push some clothes aside, reach in and pull off whatever we need. we use it for belts and chunky necklaces that don't fit elsewhere...didn't really work so well for my husband's ties, though.

You could use this for other things, like scarves and jewelry, too.

This is a totally easy DIY. I'm a necktie junkie, and have a few rows of these I made myself. Simply buy a cheap wooden peg rack (they sell at stores like Marshall's for about $10) and a good fully extending drawer glide of the same depth (about $8). Mount one to the other, and both into closet and there you go. Follow the link for pictures.
