Lily Pad Falling Water Fountain

We can say, with absolute conviction, that we've never been intrigued by a backyard water feature until today. We think it's the popping blue color and thin, unfussy tiers of this one that have suckered us in to the concept at last.

Made of powder-coated metal and the height of a kitchen counter (50" L x 36" W x 36" H), the color is fully customizable to be a standout piece in an otherwise understated yard.

At a price suitable for folks who look for "standout" pieces in their "understated" yards. Sigh.

$1,700, here.

Love it... if only I could afford it.

What gets me is its combination of simplicity and elegance. The shape and color reminds me of lilies.

To my eyes, it would better with some plants such as ferns next to it.

I just think of how my mosquitos would love it.

Easy enough to do at home with a spare pump and some pretty ceramic plates, I think I might try, and mosquitoes hate moving water so no worries on that account.

Very striking design, cool and peaceful looking.

Nice! Actually... mosquitos would not love it and they would not be a problem at all. The flowing water is enough to keep all mosquitos away. In SF the real problem is racoons. They like to clean their food in water before eating. My water feature is terrorized by racoons all the time. If I leave it on they can hear it for blocks and blocks and they come floicking in the boogers.

Another issue I see with it is cleaning, unless that water is really chlorinated it will turn greenish in a few days, which is usually fine with most water features. But with the nice blue background it would look gross.

I just found/bought a faded pink one on craigslist for $75. Little did I know what they went for new. There's another going for $650 that's in good condition.
