Over time, with a lot of dedication, labor hours, and help from Leah's garden-loving mom, both the front yard and the back have taken shape beautifully. We love the paving stones they've installed leading to the house from the street—it's such a welcoming design, especially compared to the slapdash concrete path that was there before. A stunning clematis, intertwined with a yellow climbing rose, hangs over the door, completing the warm and cottage-y look.
In the back, a concrete fountain built by Leah's husband anchors the garden. The fountain is pretty but simple, so it blends into the garden instead of calling attention to itself, like so many elaborate fountains do. The paving stones underneath the fountain are demolished pieces of an old RV parking pad that used to be behind the house. Leah's husband (who sounds like a pretty good guy to have around!) also built a concrete fire pit, as well as the shed you see pictured above.

Holy smokes, that is one heck of an undertaking and the end results are vavavoom. You had me a the box hedges and the fountain. Bravo!

This is incredible and perfect.
The subtle color choices, purple-grey, lavender, greens, white and natural wood. Lush and clever plantings. Even thoughtful enough to border both neighbors' yards with bountiful flowering shrubs, very nice.

Actually, spotted this on Leah's own blog, not on (the fabulous) Decorno... but glad to know that Leah's garden is getting so much notice!

I've never considered myself to belong to the generation that uses the word "lovely", but this IS lovely!

Wow! This is one great transformation!

Wow, such an amazing job! It is so rare to see that much attention paid to the area in front of the sidewalk. It's so often a "forgotten zone." Just FABULOUS!

I bet their neighbors love them!

Blown away. This garden took thought, planning, vision and imagination. My (envy filled) congratulations!

How beautiful! Agree with jprich. I've heard the area in front of the sidewalk referred to as the "hell zone" because it is usually neglected but they've done a great job.

wow, incredible garden transformation. I have to say, I strongly preferred the before color of the house, though.

Everything so perfect! I wonder how much maintenance is needed to keep this so perfect, I'm thinking maybe a lot.

That's beautiful. I love the new paint color too- really complements all the new greenery out front. I just bought a condo with a little yard and now you've inspired me to do something with it other than keep the weeds under control.

Impressive. Just the kind of transformation (but not the style) I want to do at my new place: overnight and for free! (So, sadly, I'm doomed to be disappointed for the next several years as it REALLY builds up slowly!)
