Paper Votive Cuffs from Publique Living

061909 paper cuffs.jpgWe've tried our hand at paper bag luminarias in the past but, well, they never turned out like this. At $16 for a pack of four votive cuffs these seem like a wonderful budget-friendly splurge for a special outdoor entertaining event...

061909 butterfly cuffs.jpgShoot, at that price we might just get several packs and keep them lit all around our house and balcony. The cuffs are made from recycled paper and are available in three different designs in your choice of black, white or red. We're fond of the butterflies in particular, but they are all quite pretty.

Available from Publique Living.

sorry, but paper and fire don't mix.
I was sleeping a cabin a few summers ago, and
other guests were using home-made paper
bag luminaries. I woke up to find a charred window
sill in the common area. Could have been worse...

They're pretty, but you'd want at least 4 packs (at the minimum) and that begins to get pricey in my 'hood.

Expensive and dangerous: the perfect combination.

Really? How can you call $4 each for a laser cut paper sleeve 'budget friendly'? If it was $4 for the whole pack of 4, that might be budget friendly, but $4 each? You can buy actual glass votive holders for less than that.

can you say..."fire hazard?"

Well, they are pretty, I will grant you that. And luminarias are supposed to hold candles IN GLASS CONTAINERS which ought to mitigate the fire risk. (What stupid people do is another story.) And they look like they would fold to store for repeated uses. But I do agree that for $4, I think I'd want a bit more bang.

Everyone has said it above for me! $4/ea is not budget friendly, especially when they are made out of paper. I could find actual glass ones for that price. Thanks but no thanks.

I prefer traditional luminarias or farolitos: sand, paper bags and candles: beautiful.
