Vintage Airstream Rentals from Silver Trailer

072209 airstream rental.jpgDo you remember this post on jewelry designer Kristiana Spaulding's amazing Airstream? We were instantly drawn to the light-filled, refurbished interior and loved the thought of spending a little vacation in one. How fitting for Escapes Month then that you can now rent this model and several others from Spaulding for your own getaway...

A recent DailyCandy email clued us in to Spaulding's new rental service. So how does it work? One of her lovingly restored Airstreams gets towed and set up at a campground near Coloma, so it's ready on your arrival. You can also rent one to act as a guest house at a nearby two bedroom vacation rental, if camping's not your thing. There are several trailers to choose from, including the beauty featured above. Find out more information at the Silver Trailer website.

It's a campground near Coloma...up off hwy 50 near the El Dorado National Forest. Not Colma...home to Target and cemeteries. :)

Does anyone know what sort of plant is in the yellow teacup?

AT, thanks so much for the post!

SFview, I'm glad you clarified the location, a lot of people do confuse the two towns. Thank you to cten & Emily too for the nice comments.

Wasyl, the plant is a native "Deer Grass". When they get big I plant them in the ground- they're super drought tolerant.
I buy them from one of my girlfriends in Lotus. Here's her nursery (scroll down to see deer grass):

Hope to see you in Lotus / Coloma or Hunters Point Open Studios sometime...

Take care,

~Kristiana
