1970's Ranch Remodel
The Oregonian: 05.27.09

It's hard to believe judging from the way it looks now, but this 1976 ranch started life with a dark, wood-paneled ship theme. But current owners Katelyn Randall and Michael Parsons have transformed it into an airy, modern home, reusing some the heavy materials in surprising ways.

The two-story home's original spiral staircase used vertical posts, reminiscent of pilings, as the railing. Randall and Parsons flipped the posts on their sides and used them, instead, as treads on the new staircase. We also love the soft grey palette and etched glass front door.
