Before & After: Kristin's Lamp Remake

lampbefore02.jpg

Changing the shade and painting the base of an old lamp is one of the most ubiquitous DIY projects around, so how is it we've never gotten around to doing it ourselves? We remain appreciative of others who pick up the gauntlet, including Kristin's endeavor to spruce up this table lamp for a housemate. See how she accomplished this after the jump...

After

In her words, "[h]e needs something a little less opaque. I need something a little less tacky." Teal spray paint and floral fabric make for a much lighter, more fun piece. See a visual tour of her process here.

cute-- love the shape of the base-- but I think I liked the original metal finish better.

"Less tacky" = teal spray paint? I applaud the effort but agree with foodefafa.

Perhaps the base had corrosion or wear that needed to be covered up.

Looks great! The teal really highlights the design on the base.
