Before and After: Chair Reupholstered with Ikea Fabric

before
Denver based designer Angela Schwab shared this freshly reupholstered chair on her blog recently, and we just had to pass it on to you...

after
The metal arms of this thrift store find work really well with the gray and white pattern of the fabric. Also, Schwab was pleased to discover that dog hair can be easily removed from Ikea cloth with a wet wipe - nice! See more of Angela Schwab's projects at her blog, INV/ALT Design.

I'm not sure which I love more, the dog or the chair. I think the dog by a hair. Who knew there was a gem under the ugly. Great job, very talented.

looks really great -- but i'm left wondering one thing: is that a tiny chair or is that a huge dog?

Looking at the RockBand drum set in the back, I can only assume it is a small/low chair. Looks great though, love the fabric!

Well done. Am I right to guess this is not DIY? If it is, fantastic job.

Must be the Dog's computer since he only sees black and white anyway...

Nice pattern placement on the new upholstery.

I love that the dog's ear flap is draped over the arm of the chair in the before pic. (I think it's a trick of the camera that makes his head so huge... that looks like a purebred Lab). I hope he still gets to claim that chair as his own.

Thanks for your nice comments, everyone!

Yes, this was a DIY project, on a rather low chair, with a very large dog. He definitely still gets to lounge on the chair, and I no longer stress about it because the hair just wipes off (IKEA fabric is amazing).

That old Mac! I was borrowing it from a friend - it had Oregon Trail and Carmen Sandiego! - and it's now been replaced by Guitar Hero World Tour (hence the plastic drums behind the chair) :)
