Good Questions: Repairing a Scandinavian Jute Chair?

9-19-jute1.jpgHello: I have a '50s-ish Scandinavian jute chair with some damage on the wooden arms. I love the shape of the chair. Is this a well-known designer and how would I repair the finish on the arms? Thanks.

bepsf is right - go professional. It's easy to slap a coat of poly on it, but if it has a laquer finish, you'll have problems. Go professional - that chair is worth it.
