4-16-gbelogo.jpgWhen it comes to remodeling or brand-new construction, more and more homeowners are seeking out greener ways to do things. Thankfully, the Green Building Exchange in Redwood City is there to offer some assistance.

According to its web site, the GBE “provides connections between people wanting to design, construct, remodel, landscape, or decorate sustainable buildings and the professionals that can help them. Green building is a relatively new field, and it requires specialized skills not broadly available from most designers, contractors, and vendors.”

You tell them about your project (via an online form) and they’ll get you in touch with a professional who matches your needs. A friend of ours recently tried out the service. Within a couple of days of submitting her form, an architect was walking through her Hayes Valley home – filling her head with sustainable remodeling possibilities.

Although nothing seems to be on its calendar any time soon, GBE has teamed up with Build It Green to offer classes as well.
