If you've ever driven around the Peninsula, you may have noticed Whole House Building Supply & Salvage's bright yellow House Demolition Sale signs. The company conducts salvage sales at homes that are slated for demolition - and we've heard tales of people going to them, hammers and pliers in hand, and leaving with amazing finds.
We've been to a few of the San Francisco and East Bay salvage yards mentioned in our Top Ten: Sources for Architectural Salvage, but somehow Whole House Building Supply & Salvage had fallen off our radar until recently.
Whole House Building Supply & Salvage has a warehouse and salvage yard just off the freeway in East Palo Alto. They sell items salvaged from area homes, as well as those that have been donated by homeowners and businesses (and they work with East Palo Alto non-profits so that all donations are tax-deductible).
