Charlybox at DWR

7-30-charleybox1.jpgWe spotted this in DWR yesterday and were intrigued - what exactly is it?

7-30-charleybox2.jpg Turns out the Charlybox is a portable dog food & water carrier - one half is a two liter canteen, the other half opens to a food and water dish. They click together and apart easily, and the whole thing is pretty lightweight when empty.

We can see this being pretty useful for a day trip to a park or the beach, or even just to a friend's house. But we're sure all the dog owners out there have opinions - let's hear them!

The Charlybox is $60 at DWR.

I love it except for the price. I will stick with my plastic bag for the food and travel bottle for the water.

You do know that your cousin to the south already discussed this nearly two months ago. The consensus was the charlybox = blerg.

I normally love stuff at DWR, but this is kinda useless. When I go to the park or beach with my two wonderful baby chihuahuas, I have collapsible (vinyl?) water and food bowls that I bring, which, in turn, get stuffed into a little over the shoulder pouch.

AT bloggers- try searching AT for the thing you're blogging about, since you clearly don't bother to read AT in the first place.

such hostility recently towards bloggers reposting items. I missed this post the first time around. and actually find it useful TODAY. I don't check the site everyday so I don't see anything wrong with the occasional repost. RELAX. (the design queens/kings can be a nasty bunch!)

damn, i thought it was going to be a cute alternative to the ugly red gas containers. i'd love to have something a little more stylish strapped to the back of my '77 moped...

I'm with goofybuddha -- what's the big deal? It's difficult enough to keep up with all the AT posts every single day, I can't remember everything I see here -- so is it really so horrible if the same item is repeated by someone else? This is the first time I'm seeing this product too -- while I probably will not be purchasing it (should be about $40 cheaper, or at least the bowls should be stainless steel and not plastic), I appreciate the concept.

seems like a complete waste of space, plastics, and money.

I dont have an issue when something in reposted after a few months, but lately the AT bloggers are repeating what other AT bloggers have talked about the day before. Now that is annoying!

They're OK except for the whole plastic construction. Not a fan of plastics in pet food because it always ends up scratched and holding bacteria...

I'm a fan of the vinyl/canvas fold up bowls other bloggers have mentioned.
