Stop the slobber from spreading. At least the slobber that's on the floor, over by the food and water bowls.
LLBean makes a nifty rubber "placemat" with two recesses that help immobilize your cat's or dog's food and water bowls. The mat is also big enough to contain the splashes and splotches and nuggets that get nosed, pawed, and dropped in the vicinity of their source.

We use one of these http://www.brookstone.com/store/ensemble.asp?ensemble_code=WATERHOG_MATS&wid=12&cid=1203&sid=120302&search_type=subcategory&prodtemp=E for our dogs' feeding area in the laundry room. Not sure if its the same one or not, but I know we chose the Brookstone one because they specify that it will not shed, rot or mildew-something very important when you have two big dogs who only manage to get half of the water they want in their mouths! They also come in custom sizes.
