2-D to 3-D Coat Tree

The line between functional object and wall decal has been steadily blurring, and this coat tree could be the missing link. If the space you have for coats is only deep enough for wall hooks, but you want the formal look of a coat tree, this is one option.

While we'd go for the real thing, we do wish the decal-and-hooks set came in more colors than just black, for a fun contrast on any wall.

I love this! there was a similar concept a few months back with a tree image. Does anyone know that entry? I couldn't find it via search. We have a small corner just inside the doorway and this concept is perfect for it. Just haven't implemented yet.....

kimg924 - you're right, the Coat Tree Wall Sticker is a lot like this. I added the link to it and fixed the broken one. Thanks!

This was in the fall/winter 2007 issue of instyle home last year and i've been coveting it ever since! The one they featured was available on greenergrassdesign.com.

Not always a fan of trompe l'oeil but this is clever.

these grecian urns have a similar effect as the coat tree sticker... i like the idea of depth and illusion... "trompe l'oeil", which i had to dictionary.com =)

It's a fun look, but it wouldn't work in my house, except for maybe on the inside of the door in my coat closet. I wonder if that would work...

Like it a lot but wouldn't it be a lot cheaper just to paint one yourself? And add low profile hooks? $100 is a LOT.

loveitloveitloveit! But my head hurts a little trying to figure out where the hooks are... That's definitely a great conversation piece for the hallway!
