We are so not fans of ornate frames that it's kind of odd that the Do-Frame caught our attention when we saw it.
Designed by Marti Guixe for Droog, it's a roll of adhesive tape that's printed with the design of an ornate picture frame. We keep thinking there's some potential here for some creative -- and cool -- uses. Ideas, anyone?

So funny how ATers are repelled by ornate frames. Guess it goes with the aesthetic. I LOOOOOVE them. That being said, I think your idea is fantastic, Monica. I hope you post it when you're done. A quick internet search shows that sheet metal is magnetic. If I had this tape, I would creat a large square molding on the wall and hang a a tiny, ornate transparent fuchsia mirror in the middle of it (just to keep things simple and uncluttered : )
Is there any way one could create gorgeous and ornate (faux) crown molding with this cool concoction? That would seal the deal for me... (;
This would be a cool product for the idea I had this week. My husband and I collect (gasp! did I just say COLLECT??) Cirque du Soleil magnets. We get one from each show we see and we have a total of nine so far. We also save the tickets because they are almost always very pretty. Anyway, we were thinking of a way to display this stuff, and I thought we could hang a piece of sheet metal on the wall, velcro nine various sized, cool looking picture frames to it, and then stick the tickets to the sheet metal, inside each frame using the corresponding magnet.
This tape might be a cool way to make the frames rather than using actual frames. By the way, does anyone know if sheet metal works with magnets? That would be a good thing to find out, because if not, that blows my plan to bits.
Pink, if we decide to do it, which I would like to, I'd be happy to post a photo if you'll tell me how. :)
Monica, you can put the photo in Flickr and tag it "apartment therapy san francisco" or email it to us at sf(at)apartmenttherapy(dot)com.
