Pictured, from left to right:
• These pillows, made from vintage Hermes scarves by Tshuka, are gloriously oversized 32.5" squares. The price, however, is oversized, too: $1,375 from Vivre.
• This Hermes scarf pillow from GroveNYC is the most gorgeous, ethereal shade of blue. At $450, it's a bargain compared to the Tshuka pillows, but still a huge chunk of change.
• Urban Outfitters is doing an Hermes-inspired throw pillow in their new fall collection. It's not real silk, but it doesn't feel cheap, and at $28, it's a far more realistic option than the real thing.
• Blue Geisha Vintage sews handmade pillows from vintage silk scarves, like this adorable red and blue running foxes print from Echo. $34 on Etsy.
• Perhaps your best bet, if you love the look of these pillows as much as we do, is to make your own. Apartment Therapy: Chicago offered up a tutorial a while back, and we also love this one from Design*Sponge.

Would I pay $1,375 for a cushion? No. Is the $1,375 cushion on the right with the carriages one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen? Yes.

Decorating using Hermes scarves? I think this is an idea that dates back to the days of emergence of Truman Capote as a writer.
If you really want to go vintage, using a Hermes scarf in a decorating scheme is what you used to read in every decorating magazine available through the dentist's office. Occasionally, someone would recommend draping a Hermes scarf over a lightbulb in lieu of a light fixture at a beach house.
It's amazing to me that Urban Outfitters is knocking off the idea at this late date. Someone should have done it long ago.
Btw, I do collect old silk scarves. (Call them vintage if you must.) And I seriously want that incredibly great fox print scarf.

I hope to see more DIY inclusions in the round-ups!
It shows the possibilities (and limitations) of the DIY project; the more mass-produced style of the Low; and the taste and care of the ultra-high-end.

I really like the high/low/DIY aspect of this post... please continue that style.
However would I decorate pillows with my Hermes scarves? No way, I'd never even buy one at those prices, mine I inherited. One is tied around the neck of my dressform but that's about it for decorating. If I don't want them, I'd resell on eBay (they go for a small fortune in fine condition), and give the money to charity instead!

I have quit a few Hermes and other beautiful scarves that were given to me. I did not wear them for years but now I do and very happy I did not make pillows out of them.
I have been thinking about making a pillow out of a vintage Pucci dress that I cannot get into and most likely never will wear again. Its so groovy and with super saturated colors such a waste sitting in my closet and not enjoying it.
