How To: Revamp a Standard Hanging File Box

1-7-box1.jpg

Being self-employed and a recent home buyer, our stack of important-documents-needing-to-be-filed just went from a few measly piles to overwhelming very quickly (ahem, estimated quarterlies and home insurance paperwork anyone?). And while we love our new home and our special office alcove, we can't say the lack of storage closets goes unnoticed...

Call us cheapskates, but we've never been too keen on forking over upwards of $30 for a filing box when we need several of them just for the current tax year. So what's a girl to do when she needs something that's cheap, functional and pretty? Turn to Martha, of course...

Check out the obvious and very simple revamp of a standard hanging file box in January's issue.

Check out the instructions here.

Shayna,

I love this idea! I want to do this too, but am wondering whether you used the bookcloth material referenced in the website or did you just use regular fabric?

Thanks!
