When we hear the phrase "metallic accent" we think of jewelry or tinsel. Never had we considered silver, gold, or bronze as appropriate colors for home decor. Perhaps that's why the display window at Monument came as such a pleasant surprise. We think these faux-leather pillows are a great dose of fun and perfectly paired with natural-colored furniture.
Yeah, it screams non-breathable. I cannot bear the thought of someone sweating into them. OK, well, they can't sweat into them I suppose; they can only sweat onto them. Either way, gross!

why wouldn't you consider metallic accents suitable for home decor? gilt picture frames, furniture or lamps with metal frames or bases, silver- or gold-painted vases? are these items all considered passe now?

I have been looking for a rug just. like. that! I think the metal accents are great fun... although I think shiny silk/satin would have worked better.
