Roundup: Retro Phones

We saw a rainbow of retro phones in the window of The Touch on Valencia and began realizing we've noticed cord-ful phones making quite a comeback.

Perhaps this trend has been building for some time, but we like to think it was Juno's hamburger phone that pushed it to another level. For all the convenience a cordless affords, being roped to the phone has its perks. For example, it doesn't need to be plugged in, making it great for blackouts and "red phone" situations. Speaking of which, here's one we like:

Home Decorators Collection has a good selection of new phones made to look like the classic styles, including this chrome wall-mounted model:

And of course eBay is a great source for the real deal. We saw this genie phone starting at $10.50:

If you like the look but are glad to have cut the cord some time ago (we couldn't resist), here's a great cordless version that still maintains the classic look:

I have a yellow Sculptura (donut phone). The thing I like more than cordless is that it cradles my ear better and is super comfortable to talk on. And it's cute. Cordless phones are ok but I end up just sitting in one place regardless - it's not like I'm walking all over my apartment when I talk on the phone.

I have one like the ones in the shop window, and aside from the frighteningly loud real bell ring, it's the best phone I have, by far (comfort, sound, everything).

Thanks to the bf from lifting this from an abandonned office storeroom... :)

I have a black one like the ones at the top (rainbow of phones). Like ChristineBadina said... it has a FRIGHTENINGLY LOUD ring :0)

But when it was at my mom's house, she could hear it no matter where in the house she was. Then she would just pick up one of the cordless phones.

ChristineBadina: Where did you get your phone from? I have been searching for that type of phone but haven't come up with anything.

Or, does anyone know what that style of phone is called?
