SF designer Kenneth Wingard's O Vases are very modern, but with kind of a retro feel. Their clean lines and simple shapes are really appealing.
You can group the handmade, glazed vases by color (white, blue, and brown), or mix 'em up. Either way, think how dramatic they'd look against a solid-colored wall. White vases against a green wall. Blue against a chocolate wall. Or orange. Or. . .you get the idea.

I have a couple... they look best bundled in pairs of if you have a bigger table in trios... mix and match sizes and colors. They are very nice. click my name for a quick pic.

Joel, is that a flokati rug under your table? I need to replace my current living room rug and want something white or ivory with some texture. If yours is a flokati it looks so much nicer than the ones IKEA sells and I'd love to know where you bought it if you remember.
Those vases look great by the way!
Hi meredith! Actually we went to see some flokatis but they shed like crazy! you will have more tumbleweeds than a western film in no time. This one is japanese yarn, 2" thick with fibers of various thickness. really nice, we got it at Target.com, $499. see my name for a closer look. Thanks!

Thank you Joel! I definitely do not want tumbleweeds - I already had to get rid of one of those felted shag rugs (Crate & Barrel Pebbles shag rug) for that very reason. Balls of fuzz everywhere for over two years, the shedding never ever stopped!
I will definitely check out that rug from Target.com, it looks so nice and also quite comfortable. Your whole living room is very lovely.
Joel- What are those green 'panels' on your wall. I love them. Where did you get them? What are they made of? Closer look?
Thanks.

Meredith, thanks for the kind words. That rud is the best we tried and we even ordered the leather flakes but it look s better in pictures. Bonline, the green panels are actually foam core cardboard that was painted with wall paint and with a roller to get it smooth. After they dried up really well, they were sprayed with water and left outside to achieve the wavy look we were after. I don't think I spend more than $20 but I have to cut 'em at the office in squares since they were rectangular... you can do it too with painted 1/4" plywood... but more expensive and I will have to ask the eames how to make wave the plywood!
