ELT Easy Green Living Wall Systems

4-16-08livingwalls.jpgBlame it on the weather, but we're going green thumb crazy. Unfortunately for us, we have no backyard. Our solution? Get a living wall!

The ELT Easy Green Living Wall is a modular living wall panel that can be either pre-grown or planted in place. For $199 (plus s&h) you can get the above unit (before the jump) and it comes with one living wall panel on a solid cedar stand and also includes an irrigation system.

Our only gripe? We aren't a huge fan of the cedar stand. However, we feel with a little DIY love we could jazz it up a bit. If you've had any experiences with an indoor living wall please leave a comment! Also, got a design suggestion for that stand? Tell us about it!

I love the idea. I'm not positive I love the look, but I love the idea so much I might just make it work!

Gardner's Eden has a similar product, it was posted on AT semi-recently. GE also markets their products for indoors and outdoors.

Why not something like one of those tall-ish rectangular planter boxes with a trellis and climbing ivy restaurants commonly use outdoors as "room dividers"? You can put it on casters and move it around too.

We have one in our tiny patio right now, with a passionflower vine instead of ivy. There must be someway you could affix the panels to the trellis and make it more indoor friendly.

This reminds me of an early Trading Spaces show where Gen Gorder made a moss wall. It was a disaster, but it was inspired!
