Peonies at Trader Joe's

We know we're not alone when we say that we really, really love peonies. We rarely have them in the house however, because for most of the year they're prohibitively expensive. Right now we're smack in the middle of their short season, and luckily for us for about three weeks a year Trader Joe's carries them, making them not just in our price range, but down right cheap.

That's right folks, just $6.99 a bunch. Call your local TJ's to see if they're in stock - the store near us has been consistently selling out.

ahhhh i love peonies...
Sarah Richardson decorated a space with huge pictures of peonies on an episode of Room Service recently. hope AT posts about that too!

The farmers markets in my area are selling them for $1.50-$2 a stem. I love that some of them throw in local greenery and flowers to make a wild-looking bouquet!

Just purchased 4 bunches on Tuesday. Mixed them with lemon leaves in a vintage glass vase and placed it on my breakfast nook table. I've been getting up earlier just to sit and linger with them a bit longer while I drink my coffee.

I've got a couple dozen peony plants in my garden and I can't wait for them to bloom! They're my favorites. Some of my neighbors plants are already blooming but my yard is a bit shadier. I may have to pick up a bunch at Trader Joe to tide me over.
