5-10-taplogo.gifWho knew that a plastic store could actually be fun? We are always excited to make a trip to TAP Plastics because it usually means we've got some DIY project in the works.

When it's time to create displays for photos and small artwork, this is where we go. And, once you visit TAP, you may just have to put it on your list of favorite resources, too. No matter where you live in the Bay Area, there's probably a TAP near you. There are also locations in Portland and Seattle.

We made the above photo display — which was previously mentioned on Apartment Therapy — with just two large pieces of Plexiglas, washers, wall anchors, screws and double-sided tape. We had TAP cut the Plexi for us, and drill the holes for hanging it up.

For the photo frame we custom-made for one of our many small art prints, TAP came through for us once again. (Instructions for the frame are available in the first issue of Craft: magazine.)

If you're not in the market for some sheets of Plexi, check out TAP's other products, including resins, fiberglass fabrics and window film. In the plastic department, you can find picture frames, displays, containers, shoji and more.

Even if you don't have a project in mind yet, after browsing the aisles at TAP, you just might get inspired.
