Pumpkin Carving: Free Templates
Last Minute Decorating

We know it’s getting close to trick-or-treating time and we’re here to rescue you from a boring, un-carved pumpkin. Your gourd deserves a great design and you deserve the pumpkin seeds. Click below to get some free tips and templates!

In the wet and moldy Pacific Northwest we usually save our pumpkin carving for the last minute. Not because we want to. The fact is early pumpkin carving around here usually leads to squishy, moldy pumpkins in a matter of days.

With that being said, it’s not too late to carve out your designs with some handy templates. There are some great online resources for free, printable pumpkin carving patterns. Just keep in mind that the best tools will make the job easier. Here are some tool suggestions:

Small serrated knife
Melon baller
Carving tool such as a linoleum cutter
Drill for making holes

Just carved a pumpkin today for the first time as I live in Australia and its not a common activity. Did it for a friends Halloween themed birthday party. So much fun but my hands are still orange.

yay, im glad you got to carve a pumpkin bkk! I just had a little carving party last night and though it was messy, it was great.

There is always someone in the group who likes to gut and scrape pumpkins. Have them do the pumkins to keep your hands clean. :D

We also save our pumpkin carving for the last minute! It's actually quite the comical scene when everyone is choosing out pumpkins at a store.

Also if you go on the H-E-B site, they have a whole section of pumpkin carving patterns that you can print and cut out: http://heb.com/mealtime/celeb-halloweenPumpkinPattern.jsp I work with them and I've decided on a pattern, but I'm not sure where to put the pumpkin (in an apartment). I'm thinking maybe in the window - where do you all put yours?
