The Value of Architecture

The Value of Architecture first grabbed our attention here. And it hasn't let go since. Curbed SF called it "mid-morning coffee-with-porn for the architecture-obsessed." We think it's not only for the architecture-obsessed, it's for the design-obsessed, the house-obsessed, the house-tour-obsessed.

Call us obsessed.

We're not the only ones. We forwarded photos of this house to friends recently, and the reaction was always the same. They whined. They whimpered. One said she felt like her dog when he eats peanut butter and his drool reaches the floor. (Okay, perhaps you have to have a dog to relate to that one.)

The Value of Architecture is actually the website of a team of realtors who specialize in architectural properties. The site says that their fundamental goal is "to raise awareness of the value of good design, and to assist [their] clients in maximizing the benefit to be derived from a design-oriented lifestyle." There are separate sites for SF, LA, San Diego, and Seattle.

Even if you're not in the market for a new abode, the website is a nice diversion. We've gotten several ideas that we'd like to use in our own apartment just from the two homes we've shown here.

After living in Manhattan for almost a year, West Coast real estate prices seem completely reasonable now. What a great site! It's a great catalyst for daydreaming. Thank you.
