While we love Alameda, sometimes all the crimes against furniture depress us. We feel for every faux-distressed dresser and threadbare chair. And while we'd love to adopt all of them and clean them up, it can seem like a lot of work when it comes down to it. Luckily, Sasha from BellJar in the Mission is doing the hard work for us.
Unfortunately, that fabulous citron display cabinet is not for sale. Sad, we know. But there are a lot of other beautiful and inspiring pieces that have been lovingly - and stylishly - refurbished.
Stop by the store and check them out, as they're changing all the time. If nothing else, you'll definitely get loads of inspiration for your next trip to the big flea.

okay, so if anyone wants to buy me that sofa and matching chair, my address is...

I'm not local to this shop, and restoring furniture was one of the most unpleasant DIY I ever did. I'm usually pretty good at trying, but I have to say never again. What do we have here in Boston for me?

Amen! As with most things, it's best to leave it to a professional. Thank goodness for people like Sasha....
