In general, color forecasts are categorized to target our emotional core. After all, color is just waves of light that we humans have anthropomorphized. Colors create an emotional energy and it’s amazing how the slightest change in saturation or hue can alter our feelings.

The Sherwin-Williams’ categories for color are: rooted, treasured, simplified and refreshed. Below you will see the Sherwin-Williams color stories along with some examples of where you can find these colors in furnishings.

I guess I'm more "Rooted"...
...I'm thinking that "Red Tomato" is going in the kitchen this year.

I'm Rooted also. I just did the living room in Elephant Skin walls, tomato red and gold wool rug. It's nice to be ahead of the trend ;-)

I really hate the word 'tribal'. So many undertones, and not in a good way.

Eheh... I'm not sure a collection named 'rooted' would do well in Australia. It has... well, a different meaning.

Love 'Refreshed', with 'Treasured' coming in second (moreso for the style itself than the colours).

I've been contemplating that "pickle" for my dining room for about 6 months now. May be time to jump on in...
