Emma's Tropical Sunshine
Room for Color - West #31

thumbs up

Name: Emma
Location: Hood River, Oregon
Type of Home: Single Family Home

Color Inspiration: It rains a LOT in Oregon in the winter time, and I got extremely tired of the dull, matte, dinged up, and very dark purple walls that the original owners had gone with.

Give Emma a THUMBS UP if you think this room belongs in the finals!
Thumbs Up Voting is only activated for 48 Hours — so don't delay!

Tropical

Color Inspiration continued: I went for vibrant and colorful because I wanted a mini haven that brought on the feeling of being in the tropics and surrounded by sunshine.

Colors Used: American Pride eggshell Poolside 1142t and Golden Dome 7033d.

Color Tip: Make friends with your local paint store people- they will know things.
Best to ventilate lest you make spontaneous decisions in the not-right frame of mind. Go with the color you are most attracted to; second guessing yourself often leads to bad decisions.

Love the orange on teal, but the big black furniture is kind of overwhelming, but Totoro won me over.

A beautiful combo that I never would have thought of! I smiled when I saw the Totoro though :) Love him.

Bravo for the dynamic palette, but I think the decor needs some fine tuning.

Totoro!
I covet both chairs in the second pic but I agree w/ mirandabee. Sadly, this seems more like the paint and art were picked out then a bunch of furniture was just thrown in.

Vibrant and fun color combo, but agree that the black furniture seems too large for the space.

like the colours, like the black furniture. doesn't seemed finished. Not really understand the layout or the red chair in the room.

Gee. Can I visit? This is a room that will keep all that rain and gloom outside where it belongs!

That heavy black bed and side table/dresser? ruined it for me completely.

Not a fan of the big black furniture, and not sure about the clock radio/stuffed animal setup, but... I love the yellow wall!

Love the Totoro! Where is the dresser from? Very masculine and would look great in my bedroom.
