Roundup: Books in Nooks
- No, we're not trying to tout books on bookshelves as something new (it's the next big thing!), but we like the slim built-in fitted above the door. Even if it's not tall enough to store books upright, you can still utilize the tiny bit of space by flipping them on their side. Via Country Living

That last suggestion only 'works' in larger rooms/homes. I sometimes have to stack excess library books on the floor, but I never spread them out like this. The orientation of the books is less-than-function as well. Given the space, stacking the books along the wall beneath the art with the spines facing out makes much more sense.

Um, that last one does NOT look pulled together... that trick only works if you stack against the wall with spines out.
