Roundup: Flora and Fauna Fine Art on Etsy

6.2.9 flora and fauna 1.jpgIn the spirit of Outdoor month here at Apartment Therapy, we have rounded up some of our favorite works that bring the outdoors in. We love artwork inspired by flora and fauna--especially when it is affordable. Check out these great works by four independent artists.

6.2.9 flora and fauna 2.jpg Titled "Drawings from the Dream Book," these prints of original illustrations ring of old scientific illustration with a touch of whimsy. DearDodo offers many illustrations and collage art pieces that bring a little nature into the mix.

6.2.9 flora and fauna 3.jpg AliciaBock creates soft focus vignetted photographs of the outdoors that strive to "evoke memories of our favorite days." This image of a tree as well as many of her other photographs do just that, with a hazy overtone of summers past.

6.2.9 flora and fauna 4.jpg Working with lumber and acrylic paint, thebeeskneesdesigns paints beautiful, simple silhouette images. This great piece makes us feel like we're in the middle of a garden in the spring.

6.2.9 flora and fauna 5.jpg Bridgetfarmerprints has created a series of etchings of various Australian birds. We love her wild, linear style and the process associated with etched prints. This piece is our favorite, but she has many available in her shop.

The "Dream Books" drawing is really lovely. Another contemporary artist whose work focuses on nature, and who is extremely affordable -- $40-$100 -- is Cincinnati-based Brett Harper, the son of Charley Harper. Here's a sampling of some of his limited-edition screenprints:

Nooo!!! I love Bridget Farmer's stuff and have been praying no one will snap up the prints I want to buy from her before I can afford them since she does such small editions... thanks a lot guys! Oh well, my loss is her gain, and maybe there will still be a few left for me after like 60 bajillion AT viewers go to her Etsy site... ;)
