FIRST ROW
• 1 Take a lesson from Laure's lovely landing strip, and use a cake stand as a catch-all for keys, phone, and change.
• 2 Elevate a plant (and protect your surfaces from leaks).
• 3 Keep your rags and dish towels close at hand in the kitchen.
• 4 Display pillar candles.
• 5 Organize your jewelry.
SECOND ROW
• 6 Display beautiful summer fruit, rather than hiding it in a bowl.
• 7 Create a lovely pedestal for a floral centerpiece.
• 8 Create layers and varied elevations in a collection display.
Any other ideas? How do you put your cake stands to work?

It never even occurred to me that I should have one. I always put cakes I bake on a platter and call it a day.

Nice ways to use an item that would only be used occasionally otherwise.

Or... you could just bake a pretty cake for it!

yay, very helpful. i was excited to have spotted a really charming cake stand once, thinking it was a hotpot but recoiled when i realized what it really was. i'm going back for it!

Good ideas. Just think of these pieces as pedestals (as well as cake stands!) and their utility multiplies.

We use ours on our dining room table almost like a high lazy susan. It's a nice place to put the salt and pepper shaker!

Gosh I love cake stands. Watson Kennedy in Seattle has lovely red ones in multiple sizes. I'm itching to buy some and do a tiered fruit display. Of course, I'm itching to buy most things they sell there...
Love the picture of the pink cake stands with the candles- very sweet.
