We've always been fans of John Robshaw's collection for Anthropologie, which is slightly less expensive than his own product line. These cotton dhurrie rugs, new to the collection, have quickly become our current Robshaw obsession. In true Robshaw style, the patterns are hand-block-printed on the rugs instead of woven into them. More after the jump...

The charming "Lollipop Blossom" design is our favorite, but we like this more traditional geometric pattern too. Not having seen them in person, we're curious how the block-printing looks on the nubbly cotton weave. Usually Robshaw's block-prints, since they're hand-done, have an appealing imperfect quality. Not sure how this would come across on a carpet, though. Anyone seen these rugs up close?
All three designs are available at Anthropologie, $78 for a 2'x3' throw rug and $698 for the 6'x9' carpet.
well, actually it's the same stuff. sometimes he licenses out a discontinued product line to a retailer like the hot pink phulkari bedding. but quite a lot of his stuff is still available on his own site. and the pricing is comparable. this rug is $8 less on his site.
i notice that the primrose bolster went up to $184 at Anthro last year, then $215 on HSN, and the robshaw site raised it to $215 but recently dropped it to $170. several other online retailers have it btw $184 and $225, depending on whether/what type insert is included.
when they say "exclusively at anthropologie.com" they just mean you can't get it in their stores.

I noticed on that ABC Carpet and Home is now selling rugs online and they have some great dhurries with motifs that are similar to Robshaws and suprisingly cheaper. I love this one! http://www.store.abccarpet.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=42&idproduct=3191

Just FYI- We actually carry John Robshaw at a really low price- Once someone said it was less than N.Y. wholesale.

I love the colorful John Robshaw's dhurries, but sometimes that doesn't work in a room.
For some appealing understated dhurries, Thomas Paul's are a good choice:
