Capel Rug at Overstock.com

10-7-capel.jpgOverstock.com is our new obsession. There's a pretty great selection of rugs, and some of our favorites (like this one) are under $200...

Which is hard to find for an interesting rug over 5 by 7 feet. This could be a really fun focal point, and a good jumping off point for decorating - just use the colors in there as inspiration for the rest of the room. Has anyone ordered from Overstock before? Are the pictures generally a good representation of the product? The one downside to this rug is we could see it come and have the colors look nothing like they do here. One of the pitfalls to shopping in your pajamas, we guess.

I ordered a bed from Overstock.com 2 years ago and it had pieces missing and broke within 6 months. But it was cheap and I used the broken frame to construct my own vision.

The rug looks nice but I'll bet the colors aren't as rich as they seem.

as i said in another post this week, i got a really big (8 X 10') rug from overstock in an awesome geometric pattern. its stainmaster, and i LOVE it. only $2.95 to ship it and it cost me less than $300 for the rug. everyone compliments me on it and i am thinking of getting another in a different color for another room.
love
this
website.

Personally, I think smartbargains.com has a better selection and with an online coupon I got a 5 x 8 wool pile rug for about $200. The quality is decent, just takes a while for the shedding to ease!

I just received 2 runners that I ordered from Overstock and am very happy with them - you can't beat the $2.95 shipping, and the quality is very good. It is shedding a little bit but I don't mind. It's better than anything I saw at Target or Home Depot and wasn't out of my price range.

I have purchased from overstock.com and I personally like the store. I have been pleased with everything I have ordered so far (mostly furniture and linens). They have a volatile inventory, so depending on the item, it is better not to wait too long before purchasing. They get a few nice modern pieces from time to time (my favorite purchase is a pair of knock-off Panton "Ess" chairs that look fabulous) so you have to take your time and pick through the site carefully to find what you like. Their pricing is also very volatile - prices can up and down in a matter of days. In terms of service, I received everything I ordered in a reasonable amount of time and in good condition - I have no complaints.

I have purchased rugs online (not overstock.com) before and colors can be tricky - but I keep that in mind before I buy. I have been lucky so far - but I don't think buying an expensive rug sight unseen is for everyone.

I bought a rug from overstock is a seagrass fiber and it is great. I got it for $150 and it is 8X10.

I also ordered a 30 in wide, 10 in deep stainless steel sink fro our kitchen remodel for $120! It is really high quality and compares to the $500-600 ones at other places.

I think if you are selective and read the reviews then you can get some really good deals.

oh yes, overstock is on my toolbar next to apartment therapy and craigslist. up to a couple months ago, my favorite rug was a 5x8' modern wool rug from overstock. i was very apprehensive about buying something that I would not attempt to return because of its size. so i took all of the reviews into consideration and took the plunge. the rug was far "more" than i expected. my newest favorite is a pair of wool runners with a beautiful monochromatic graphic that i again got from overstock. i do caution to check the measurements closely because sometimes the picture is not accurate. call or chat with one of their reps if you need more info than is on the site. good luck!

I ordered our kitchen faucet from overstock.com, it was something like $700 or $800, I paid $150, and it's GORGEOUS!

But then I had a gift cert and ordered a pair of earrings that ended up being SO SMALL they looked like child's jewelry, so it's hard to tell with things like that-although I suppose thats the case with online shopping in general. Just would have been nice to see them on a model or something.

I ordered black out drapes and throw pillows from Overstock. I was pleased with both purchases. The customer feedback reviews were right on about these items. Now that I'm on their email list, I get "secret sale coupons" and "free shipping these days only" emails. Much more helpful than JCrew's (slightly creepy) "Fall clothes are HERE" notices.
