While thick, luscious pile feels fantastic underfoot, we personally tend to prefer flat-weave rugs for their ease of cleaning, and how they lay against the floor with minimal transition from wood to rug. West Elm's new color-block dhurries add a modern, neutral option to the field, at an affordable price.

Does anyone know how these kinds of rugs perform under office chair casters? Does the rug get bunched up at all? I need a rug for the "office" corner of my bedroom to save my downstairs neighbor from having to hear me slide the chair around on the hardwood floor.
